  • With its height of 167.50 m, the water-retaining dam of Wanjiakouzi Hydropower Station is currently the world's highest RCC double-curvature arch dam. Because high hills, steep slopes and precipitous valleys are covered around the dam site area, it is very difficult to lay out the construction road connecting to the working face.By comparison of vertical concrete transportation methods, over 100 m full pipe transportation system have been developed and adopted as a means of transporting RCC into the working face, which has achieved good technical,economic and social benefits. Practice has proven that the method is worthy of reference for similar projects.
